Thanks Carol.
Have you talked to any of the players lately to see what kind of feeling is in the room? |

Carol Schram: Elias Pettersson delivers the sizzle but Canucks fall in shootout to Devils
Elias Pettersson scored his 27th goal of the year and delivered a dazzler in the shootout, but the Vancouver Canucks ultimately settled for a single point against the New Jersey Devils on Friday at Rogers Arena. - Carol Schram
Thanks Carol.
Good of you to touch on Biega . He has done everything asked of him this year . Not a star by any means but definitely cheap fill in. You have to respect people like him , giving everything every shift.

Quinn Hughes has the highest PNHLe among NHL prospects 🔥
Olli Juolevi has the 8th highest PNHLe among AHL prospects 🔥
Jett Woo has the 6th highest PNHLe among WHL prospects 🔥
Jack Rathbone 8th in U20 defence scoring in the NCAA 🔥
(Had no 1st unit powerplay time) |

No, but I can tell you the mood around the press box at this point is basically at the 'gallows humour' stage.
The venerable Tony Gallagher paid us a visit last night and was insisting that the Canucks should update their logo—to the walking boot.

The issue with these arbitrary systems is that they just judge players based mostly on point production without much context. Usage, ice time, defensive play, sh%, linemates, playing through injuries, etc. |

I sure hope next year they use Tanevs 4.5 mil on a player that breaks legs with his shot instead of constantly having our legs broken |

I should have said analytics are potential's best friend. I guess we just have to wait and see with fingers crossed. |

That was trending a few days ago. All of these injuries are a little more than bad luck when they happen year after year after year. |

These type of tools aren't the be all end all. They are a tool though. You can look at these things in whatever context you choose. I look at them as a possible sign to come. A brief look to what the future might be. Again, context of them probably differs per person. |

No. That's an answer to an equation someone developed to support an opinion. Minivan just reposted it because it makes one of our prospects look dominant. Yay. - bloatedmosquito
I don't think our prospects are as good as some think and I don't think we are as bad as others think. I think we have one or two players right now that could step into a NHL spot right now and one or two more that can step in later. If we draft at least one NHL caliber player that we can slip into the lineup within 3 years then we are on pace.
Every year just make sure you draft at least one NHL player.

I am one of those 'bad' others, but what you described above would be best case scenario IMO. I would be thrilled if that happened while keeping the current group of young players on the roster now.
I still think they need another high skilled player or two; centre and dman. Don't see that in the current group of prospects nor do I see it in the potential draft positions. Maybe free agency or trade but I doubt it. |
